Curly Hair

Curly hair varies not only from hair type but within each curly head of hair there are usually at least two places where the types of curl differ. Around the hairline most commonly the hair is finer, more tightly curled and more prone to breakage as it is actually more delicate even though it is harder to straighten. Hair may naturally form dreads in the back or underneath even if the hair on top of the head is much straighter. Curly hair naturally has a more open cuticle layer which loses moisture and actually causes the outside of the style to dry out quicker, whereas the underneath hair stays moist longer and is usually in better condition with a more defined curl. Underground Culture products help to retain moisture in the hair, add shine by smoothing down the cuticle and define the natural curl.
